The establishing and demarcation of
both the area and functions of ICAM
units will allow the creation and application
of good management policy. Good management,
taking an integrated view of the function
of the territory, should have positive
repercussions for both inhabitants and
tourists and occasional visitors to
the Balearic coastline. The division
of the territory in terms of ICAM is
based in the demarcation of a series
of homogenous zones and is carried out
starting from a prior analysis of the
factors, both in natural an socio-economic
terms, that depend directly on the coastline,
as well as socio-economic activities
derived from them.
