The measurement of effort and repercussion of scientific activity is currently based on bibliometrics. Indicators in bibliometric techniques quantify the number of documents published by a country, institution, research group or individual, as well as the number of citations of these documents in other works.

By means of bibliometrics, this study will aim to bring together all of the possible perspectives from which research into the Balearic coast has been carried out. This will allow us to approach research activity by analysing scientific publications in various databases.
